Chester E. Burgess

Chester E. Burgess, 91 of Toledo, OH, died Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Ebeid Hospice Residence, Sylvania, OH.  Born September 13, 1925, in Lawrenceburg, TN, he was the son of Bonnie and Dezzie May (Gallian) Burgess.  He married M. Ramona Johnston on October 4, 1946.  Chester was employed as a machine repairman for Champion Spark Plug for 27 years, retiring in 1977. A member of Liberty Baptist Church, he enjoyed playing the guitar and singing bluegrass music at Conn-Weissenberger American Legion.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, M. Ramona Burgess; son, Noah (Mary) Burgess, grandchildren, Edmond (Jamie), Bethany (Matt), and Tiffany (Aaron); great grandchildren, Harper and Lincoln. Chester was preceded in death by 1 brother and 3 sisters.

Visitation will be from 2-9 pm, Sunday, June 4, 2017, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman ) Temperance, MI.  Funeral services will be held Monday, June 5, 2017, at 11:00 am, at Liberty Baptist Church, 5501 Jackman Rd., Toledo, OH, where he will lie in state after 10:00 am.  Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania, OH.
